The First Hundred Years - A Short History of Socialist International Women

This book tells the history of the first one hundred years of the Socialist International Women.

In the 19th century the participation of women in politics was illegal and unwanted. It was only in 1907 that the International Socialist Women's Movement was founded in Stuttgart, Germany. Since then the Socialist International Women (SIW) has fought for women's rights worldwide and its work was only interrupted by war and fascist oppression.

Today, SIW is not only the oldest women's political organisation but with 146 member organisations it is also the largest in the world.

Includes 18 pages of photographs and images.
